The Cliche Question: What is the meaning of Life?

Photobucket

The most obvious answer would be: Life is what you want it to be. If we go any further into the debate, we will step into a mire of belief systems and their infinite individualized interpretations.

I'll share my interpretation but it's not any more valid nor invalid than the next blokes. Somehow for some unknown reason that no one can explain, life "magically" appeared. It can't be explained completely by any one person and there's always unanswered questions.

The next question is now that there is life, what is each individual supposed to accomplish?

Although it's completely up to the individual to choose what's their life purpose, if anything, I sway toward the Yogic approach; it's possible to achieve peace of mind through the repeated practice of complete cessation of thought through concentration.

There are many methods to calm the thoughts and it is a very difficult task. Once the mind has completely ceased all thoughts, the individual ceases to be until the individual consciousness returns. The ceasing to be or dissolving into higher consciousness is typically known to be experienced as ecstasy, the greatest happiness, bliss and so forth. By repeated practice of the methods it is possible to vanquish the individual ego for good. What is the individual ego? That's the part of us that makes us an individual; one that experiences every emotion; experiences pain and pleasure, and every polar opposite. For those who wish an "earlier" release from the entrapment between all of the opposites, Yoga is practiced.

Life is what you want it to be.

The World is Made of Mirrors

Everything is an illusion because when we look at an object all we see is ourselves relating to the object and how it relates to us. Whatever we think we are seeing is actually our mind's projection onto the object and we're really not seeing the object at all. The object exists only because we think it exists and of course if multiple minds agree that something exists, it is believed to exist.

Not only is the world the reflection of ourselves, but there are as many realities as there are conscious beings. No one conscious being perceives the world in the exact same way and as stated above the only reason why we have the false belief that we are in the same reality is because of collective mutual agreements.

Veganism: Would you like it if an animal killed and ate you?

Photobucket

It's simple - if you can't see yourself being raised in a concentration camp to be hooked up to machines for hours every day and eventually butchered then you have no right forcing an innocent animal to do the same for your sake.

Why should an innocent animal die just because you like the way death tastes? No one needs meat to survive in our society anymore so that cop out excuse is inapplicable. Eating dairy is the same deal - not necessary and only causes animal suffering. What do they do with the old cows and what do they do with the calfs that need to be born to produce milk? All signs point to slaughter.

Even if organic dairy farmers promised that they didn't sell the calf babies to be slaughtered, didn't slaughter cows that stopped producing milk, didn't hook them up to machines and so on they still are enslaved animals that have no rights. If you can't see yourself enslaved then don't enslave the animals.

Hands Free Cellphone Law

hands free headset

The hands free cellphone law is obviously a clear motive to generate massive revenue for cellphone accessory companies and large gov't kickbacks while making the consumer suffer yet another tax.

After snooping around on the internets it appeared sufficiently evident that hands free and hand held rates of accidents are the same! Of course if you talk to the people who implemented the law they will give you a modified story.

4th of July is a Mockery

4th of July as we know is a commercialized holiday, a mindless holiday, another excuse for people to express their gluttonous ways. So many people running around in stores like little ants collecting all their party supplies to take back to their ant hills so they can feast all day and night on the remains of dead animal carcasses. What ever happened to their freedom?

There was no independence day in America - this country was never ours but carelessly invaded.

We are good at taking the freedom from our own citizens but more so the citizens of other countries thanks to our democracy. We think in our democracy we have freedom but we're really like goats tethered to a post - only can go so far, forgetting that it's tied down from time to time. No government will be perfect since corruption is rampant in ever corner and that corruption will continue to exist while only a handful of people rule over our lives for us.

Hope all enjoyed their mindless celebration.

Perspective Means Everything

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

How do you see the world and what makes you think that your view is the right one, the only one, or the most probable one?

If you hold an apple in your hand, you say that is an apple and if you ask someone next to you what they see, they also will say "An apple." But what if your perspective is that it's not an apple at all but just atoms taking on that form, or it's just you thinking it's an apple?

If you are a Christian and you believe if you do such and such things you are going to heaven, does that mean heaven exists and that you are really going there in the same form as you are now or some other form? If you're a Buddhist and you believe if you meditate deeply enough with enough faith for so long does that mean you have reached Nirvana and you are free from the cycle of birth and death? If you're an atheist and you believe there is no other life and this is all there is, does that make it true for everyone? Is your individual perspective your own individual reality? Does whatever you believe in really come to fruition? Even after death?

So many questions and so many answers depending on whom you speak to. No matter who you speak to and what answers you get you are still left in the dark, the unknown. You just can't know what the truth is, it's incomprehensible to the human mind. Is it possible to transcend the human mind and ego and go beyond? Yes I believe so but once you go beyond you can't explain it to others nor make people fully understand.

It's true that if your faith is incredibly steady or practically unbreakable you have little to no doubts about your own personal views in life. Is that a good thing or a bad thing or is it just another perspective?

These types of discussion can go on for eons; in the end you are left thinking, but will thinking really lead to the answers you seek or will those answers just create more thoughts and questions?

A wise person once said something along the lines of "All paths lead to the same place. Pick a path and follow it to its end."

The end simply cannot be described nor can it be described as an end or a beginning.

Relationships and Love: Are They Real?

I was thinking maybe part of why I'm single is because I want to be; it has to be intentional to some degree. Dealing with people can really suck and watching two egos fight for control is pretty annoying. Is companionship and sex really worth it in the end? Hard to say sometimes.

I really have to say I've never seen a couple I've truly admired and respected and wanted to imitate. In the majority of married couples when I look into their eyes I see no real qualities I desire; fed up, bored, p-whipped or man handled, anger, sadness, tied or chained and what have you.

And then there's love; the love between two people is conditional and if something breaks those conditions all hell may break loose. If you fell in love with someone because of their looks and that sparked your desire and that desire sparked your attachment and if one day your partner got his nose crushed off from a car accident what happens? If your attachment to him was not incredibly strong at that juncture you may feel one of the relationship conditions has taken your "love" away. You may try to fake it or attempt to make it work but who knows if you will succeed.

True love exists but that is beyond individuality and that is a discussion for a different post.
